Sophia Pleat is a photographer, athlete, and creative storyteller. A recent graduate of the State University of New York at Potsdam, she is now pursuing her M.S. in Public Relations in Sports, Media, and Communications at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. She specializes in photography and continues to sharpen her social media strategy.

In addition to her work as a photographer, Sophia was a collegiate athlete throughout her three years at Potsdam. After her sophomore season, her team unanimously voted her team captain. Understanding how to shape culture, unify a group, and influence performance are concepts she now carries into the sports media landscape.

As Head Sports Photographer for SUNY Potsdam's Athletic Communications Department, Sophia collaborated with every varsity team on campus. She independently coordinated and executed media days, senior days, and photo edits. Blending creativity with technical skill, she used visual storytelling to strengthen the college's connection with its community.

Her work has been featured on The Lacrosse Network, No Contact Lacrosse, St. Lawrence Men's Hockey, deethreelax, and d3hockey Instagram accounts. Across SUNY Potsdam Athletics and her personal page, @spleat.shots, she grew her following by 1,500 followers and increased total views by 247%, with a 231% increase in views from non-followers.
